Problem/Starting Point:
Each member of the Executive Committee of the Michelin Group obviously work together quite closely, however they rarely get the occasion to convene and collaborate together all in the same space. What's more, considering their understandably busy schedules, occasions to pause & reflect on the past as well as imagine what the company's long-term future might/should hold in a world that is constantly changing are also hard to come by...
Process & Solutions:
In order to meet these objectives, the team from WDHB Strategic Learning and I organized an immersive 3-day getaway for Michelin's Executive Committee in the breathtaking wine-producing region near Narbonne in the South of France. The event was packed full of activities varying in content and format, but generally speaking, each session was intended to enable each group member to be made aware both of their own as well as their colleagues' "mental models", i.e. the personal, internal representations of external reality that people use to interact with the world around them. The idea was that in doing so, the group would be better equipped to collaborate together in the pursuit of continuous innovation and progress for the Michelin Group.
